"Not surprisingly the aspect that has most captured the imagination of medical men is the evidence that we are dealing with a crucifixion victim, and one with considerable parallels to the most well-known of all crucifixion victims, Jesus Christ. In this context the extent to which the whole character of the blood flows is convincing to medical men cannot be emphasized enough. The comments of Dr. Bucklin are typical:
'Each of the different wounds acted in characteristic fashion. Each bled in a manner which corresponded to the nature of the injury. The blood followed the flow of gravity in every instance.'
"We will therefore consider each group of wounds both from the medical viewpoint and in its relevance to the gospel story. (Wilson)"

Special thanks to Barrie M. Schwortz, Editor and Publisher of www.shroud.com. Barrie hosts one of the most detailed and thorough sites with current hypotheses and analysis results on the shroud's authenticity. Barrie was kind enough to allow me to use some of his photos for display at this site.
