1769 King James Bible |
File size: 1.53 MB.
Besides the 1611, still believed to be one of the most accurate translations of the Hebrew
and Greek texts that exist today. Purists who want the least amount of human error involved
in their search for God's truth insist on versions prior to the 1800's.
Comes with a newer version of the FileSearcher which is an ideal application for use with such
a large text as the bible. In this package it has been renamed as "BibleSearcher" and
has been upgraded (as has the FileSearcher).
|
 |
|
Originally, I downloaded this version which was purported to be the original 1611
King James translation of the bible. Evidently this is NOT the original 1611 version,
but rather the 1769 translation, which by most standards is probably the closest to
the 1611 while still being "reader friendly" (since 1611 is written in "ye olde English").
Though I haven't read the results of
comparisons being done between the 1769 and the 1611, I understand that the text
maintains most of its integrity up to the 1800's. To date, I know of no 1611 that is
free for download, only for sale. This version, the 1769, is probably the closest version to the
1611 that you will find for free. If you're interested in purchasing the 1611 version,

 |
| I have officially moved this to the boneyard. This link will take you to
the FileSearcher II utility since F.S. II isn't impeded by long file names and it is more
functional. It's just as easy to use but covers way more ground with respect to
search capabilities. |

FileSearcher IINew |
 |
 |
| The incorrect version was posted here for a long time that had a bug when unable to open a file. Now
instead of notifying you at each file, it simply adds up the files and shows you one error instead of many.
Sorry for the mistake. |
| File size: 63.9 KB. For those of you who need to search more than just
a directory for contents of a file. This one searches subdirectories too. Double click
the file name returned by the search to open the file. A real time saver.

| NOTE: Not designed for searching multiple drives. |

Stay Online |
[without getting disconnected for lack of use] |
| Tired of getting disconnected by your ISP? |
 |
 |
 |
| File size: 59.5 KB. Pings the internet randomly between selected minutes. For instance if you select 2 for Min and 6 for Max, then it would ping at random intervals between 2 and 6 minutes. By default it pings between 1 and 3 minutes which I have found to be the best intervals. I have used this program for several years, from Windows 95 to XP. If you lose your connection to the internet for any reason, you need to close the program and restart it if you re-connect. I have even let it ping while downloading programs and it doesn't corrupt the download; although, I think it is wiser to stop the program while downloading. Once connected to the web, start 'Stay Online,' click 'Start Auto' and it will do the rest. Click 'OK' to send it to the system tray. Click 'Ping' to send out a single ping to see how the program notifies you that it is pinging. Right click the icon in the tray to show. |

Keep On Top |
 |
 |
| File size: 26.8 KB.
Have you ever wanted to keep one window on top while you typed on a document beneath? This simple little
program allows you to keep any window on top of all the rest so you can type on the window beneath while
being able to refer to the window on top. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but now that I
have it, I love it! I hope it proves as useful for you as it finally has for me. I just upgraded this
today, March 9, 2005 so that a list of windows that are opened are provided for you. If your open windows
change, you must restart 'Keep On Top.' Then, all you have to do is pick an open window and click 'Keep On Top.'
If you exit the program, the window will be restored automatically. |

Alarm Clock |
 |
 |
| File size: 61 KB.
Upgraded. Nothing fancy.
Alarm clock hides in the system tray until it goes off. Keeps time if alarm
is not set, otherwise displays alarm time. Newer version accepts messages as part
of the alarm and hides or displays the buttons for aesthetic purposes. New version also sounds off as if a telephone were ringing per user request. |

Web Page Checker |
 |
 |
| File size: 58 KB.
Web Page Checker scans HTML pages for errors by counting and comparing the tags. It also
checks for broken tags (tags that are missing brackets, e.g. <tag ) and lists broken tags
with the tag number. Even if you use an HTML Editor, the quantity of starting and ending
tags can be uneven. This type of error can show up intermittently and might only show up
in certain browsers.

Conversions |
Windows 95/98 |
 |
 |
| File size: 32 KB.
Ever wonder how much you weigh in Stones? Just a simple converter that converts acres into square feet,
feet into meters and parsecs into light years (to name but a few). File size is only 57KB. This is meant
to be more of a novelty than a serious converter. Not a lot of thought or time went into this project so don't
expect much.

Mileages |
 |
 |
| File size 44 KB.
A mileage chart for 69 major cities. Mileages gathered from several sources and averaged
so distances probably have a correction factor of about 2-3%. No ammenities... just mileage...
therefore a small file size, hence a fast loader [the way I like my apps].

| Inno Setup Utility |
| For you programmers out there who need a robust utility that not only creates
setup programs, but also provides the powerful use of script through a third party
add-in enabling you to thoroughly customize your setup programs. Probably one of the
most popular setup utilities. |
 |
| Enzip: file compression tool. |
| Extracts compressed (.zip) files and compresses files creating .zip files |
| Another utility that is not only free but is as good or better than compression utilities
that cost money. Why pay for Microsoft's WinZip which should be free just as Internet Explorer
is free. Hmmm... do you think there may be ulterior motives involved? Naw, of course not, but
you'd be crazy to purchase an overpriced utility that is no better than a free one. |

Logbook Database/Calculator |
for Windows |
 |
 |
 |
| I understand DOT changed the guidelines regarding logbooks
and allowable hours. Since I no longer drive, I don't have insights into
how this database should be revised. So if I receive enough feedback
indicating an interest, I'll attempt to update the thing so it is current
with DOT standards. Otherwise... |

"logbook.zip" file size: 536 KB. Installed: 593 KB.
This I call the "Loose Leaf Log Manager." When I was driving
I found myself spending too much time gleaning driving hours so I decided to
develop this application which, after many hours of development, ended up being a
database. |
 |
| FEATURES:
- Searchable database
- Distance calculator for 70 major cities
- State speed limits
- Automatic recap
- Retrieve total miles for any time period
- Automatically calculates how changes to driving time and/or total miles will affect each other and how the changes will affect the following day's entries
